The cycling route "EuroVelo 13", called the Steel Curtain Route, is passing through Suboticaand Palić. Almost half a century Europe was violently divided into East and West. EuroVelo 13 returns to this "Steel Curtain", a border stretching from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea.
To follow this path for more than 10,400 km is a live lesson from history, but it also provides a welcome reminder of peace and reconciliation that followed the fall of the '’Curtains'’. This is also the longest EuroVelo route. Also near Subotica and Palić passes EuroVelo 11, more precisely Eastern European tour.
All information on EuroVelo routes can be found on www.eurovelo.com.
There are five automatic stations for renting bicycles in the SU BIKE bicycle rental system in the city center - parking behind the Open University, on Palić - parking at the Mala Gostiona restaurant, in Dudova forest - near the Sports Hall, at Prozivka - near the closed pool and at the Flea market - across the stadium of FC Bačka.
Registration for the use of bicycles can be done at the JKP Parking on address Đure Đakovića 23, on 2nd floor, with ID card or Passport, and it costs 500 RSD, which is a one-time cost for creating a user's card and for an unlimited duration. Bicycle rental is 100 RSD per day or 20 RSD per hour.
There is an option to buy a customer card next to the station in Palić, while some hotels offer the system with their user cards. Registration can be done on Weekdays from 07am to 08pm, on Saturday from 09am to 01pm. Bicycles can be picked up at the stations from 07am to 08pm and can be returned at any time.
