Bagojvar, in translation the Owl Tower, and the Vila Lujza were built in 1892 within sports complex of Lajoš Vermeš, a prominent athlete and founder of the 1880 Palic Olympics.
The villas were built in then fashionable Swiss style, with abundant use of wood and tiles of the famous Zsolnay ceramics.
There used to be an asphalt bike path, grandstands, exercise pavilions, a summer stage and a café. Today, next to Bagojvar stands a bust of Lajoš Vermeš.
